About Me

My name is Christopher Kusek.  I am an evangelist and consultant by nature.    I’ve been consulting and evangelizing technology, innovation, solutions and doing the ‘right’ thing going back to the early days of the internet.

After 15 years doing security research, consulting and any number of other things focused entirely on customers I left the partner and consulting world to join the vendor community with NetApp in 2007.    After spending two years working with numerous large enterprise customers and a slew of technologies and innovations I accepted a position with EMC in September 2009, to start the next chapter of my life on my birthday of all days!  After spending an awesome 3 years at EMC, working with some amazing people and having some absolutely awesome people on my team, I left EMC after exactly 3 years to take a brief 3 month sabbatical to spend time with my family and to re-assess the industry as a whole.   Officially as of Mid-December I’ve finished my sabbatical and have been talking with some great leaders of industry as I decide where I focus my attention next.   I’m talking to the next generation leaders in Storage, Virtualization, Cloud, and the Enterprise.   I am open to further discussions of opportunities until the right fit is presented and I choose to pursue it! You’ll obviously know all about it since there’ll be a blog post about it!

I stay heavily connected to my customers, peers, competitors, partners and others in the internetosphere through Twitter, Facebook, Blogs, conferences and more.   This level of immediate interaction provides a vehicle for us to keep each other current, honest and on the level about all things in technology so we all grow together.

I invest in not only my own educational development but also the development of my peers and the community.  I take this education as directly to the community as I can, through training, presentations, direct mentoring (technical, career, presentation, etc)

I have a number of projects in the works in written, spoken, presentation and other to deliver which I’ll unveil as appropriate.   I’m always interested in delivering presentations and content to Conferences, Events, and Training.

Above all, I keep things honest, on the forefront and to keep things simple, understandable and most importantly applicable :)

About the Authors (inside book) VMware vSphere 5 Administration Instant Reference

Christopher Kusek is the Global Virtualization Lead for EMC, where he leads a global team of Cloud and Virtualization Professionals. Personally, he has a hardened focus on Virtualization, Applications, Security, and Cloud, both from an overarching strategic stand point
as a technology evangelist, as well as a practical and tactical stand point with a direct focus on customers. Christopher is founder of multiple user groups and maintains an active role within the technical communities, both locally and globally. Working with x86 Virtualization going back to VMware’s roots, Christopher also has been actively involved with Citrix and Microsoft Virtualization solutions over the past 15 years. Recognized as a VMware vExpert, Christopher maintains an active profile on both where Virtualization is from a here-and-now strategy but also looking forward years in advance to the future of IT.  Two common misconceptions are that Christopher doesn’t sleep and that he is a cat. Only 1 of those statements is correct. Maintaining an industry active social profile, Christopher is also an official EMC Blogger posting on EMC and Industry at his blog: PKGuild.com as well as heavy interaction within Social Media and Twitter via @CXI.  A frequent presenter at conferences, he is comfortable leading the vision from high with the executives while also earning the respect of the troops deep in the trenches.

Need to find some of my other Bio’s and add my Abstracts for my regularly presented sessions soon ;)
